Season 14: 2008 - 2009 Auditions!
 
The spring audition dates have been filled.
 
To reserve a time in August please email auditions@cyorchestra.org.
 
Strings: Saturday, August 16
Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion: Sunday, August 17
 
If you cannot make these dates, let us know. We will try to accommodate everyone.
 
To reserve a spot and to receive audition forms, please email music director Liza Grossman (auditions@cyorchestra.org).
 

 
Requirements for the audition are:
     Strings: Three octave major and minor scale; legato and spiccato. Solo work of your choice and a small amount of sight-reading.
     Woodwinds and Brass: Major and minor scales that cross the register. Solo work of your choice and a small amount of sight-reading.
     Percussion: Demonstrate ability on mallet, rhythm and timpani. Some sight-reading.
 
The auditions will be held at Cleveland State University in the Music and Communications Building, Room G-15. Located at East 21st and Euclid Ave.
 
SEATING PLACEMENTS for returning and new members:
Please play a solo piece of your choice and there will be some sight-reading.
 
Strings - Saturday, August 30
   Violins: 8:30am - 12:30pm
   Violas: 1:00pm - 2:15pm
   Cello and Bass: 2:30pm - 4:30pm
 
Winds and Percussion - Sunday, August 31
   Woodwinds: 10:00am - 12:00pm
   Brass: 12:30pm - 2:00pm
   Percussion: Meeting at 2:30pm
 
These are on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED Basis. The seating placements will be held at Cleveland State University in the Music and Communications Building, Room G-15 and Drinko Hall. Located at East 21st and Euclid Ave.

CYO accepts musicians that are ages 13-19.
 
Tuition is $230 with an additional $20 t-shirt fee for 2008-2009 season.
 
Financial aid, scholarships and student work study are available.
 
     Come and be a part of the only youth orchestra in the country to dedicate itself exclusively to the study and performance of contemporary orchestral literature!
